The Nurses Tea is a free event by invitation only, that is held every first Sunday of May, in celebration of National Nurses Week, which is held annually from May 6 through May 12.

National Nurses Week honors the nursing profession and those who have dedicated their lives to it . While National Nurses Week was celebrated for the first time in 1991, it wasn’t until 1993 that the American Nurses Association’s Board of Directors elected to make this week-long recognition an annual event starting in 1994. SBNA invites nurses in the community to honor their service in healthcare. We also invite community members as a way to say thank you for their support.

The tea also serves as a venue to invite nurses to join as members and non nurses to join as ambassadors to lend their talents to the association in helping us continue our service to the community.
